This page will be a place holder for my third Nintendo arcade restoration project.

Initial assessment
I picked up a Vs. Super Mario Bros cabinet in town for $100 a couple of weeks back.  The cabinet is in decent shape, but not without its dings.  The game board works fine, but there are issues with the monitor.  I’ve ordered and already received a cap kit, so I’ll start there.

I really don’t know what I’ll do with it yet.  I’m having a hard time choosing between turning it into a Popeye or a Donkey Kong Jr.  I’m leaning toward Popeye in case I run across a Donkey Kong Jr. in an original cabinet.

This cabinet will be turned into a Popeye. I think I will  turn it into a Red Donkey Kong 60-in-1 machine.  I found someone on ebay parting out their Donkey Kong Jr machine, so I contacted them and inquired about the cabinet.  I bought the cabinet and several parts, but that’s a story for another day.

Cost
As with the other projects, I’ll attempt to keep a running total.  I probably won’t sell the game, but it will be nice to know how much I have in it.

- Super Mario Bros cabinet with pcb and non-working monitor – $100
- Popeye PCB
- Cap kit
- Control panel/overlay
- Marquee
- Bezel
- Instruction sticker
- Instruction card
- Side art
- Paint?

I snapped a few photos of the cabinet today.  This will probably be the last update about the machine until I finish Donkey Kong Project II.
